Thyssen Museum

Originally a private collection before being taken over by the state, Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza's collection comprises over 800 paintings. Here we can find exhibits from the 13th century to the present day, and thus follow the most important trends and movements in art over the last few hundred years.

Prado Museum

Located in an 18th building designed by Juan de Villanueva, the Prado is considered one of the most important art galleries in the world. It houses masterpieces by Velázquez, Goya, El Greco, Zurbarán, Ribera, Titian, Raphael, Botticelli, Fra Angélico, Rubens, Bosch, Van der Weyden, Poussin, Lorrain, Watteau, Rembrandt, Dürer and Mengs, among others.

The 3rd of June we have our welcome dinner. We are going to El Ñeru " it is restaurant near Puerta del Sol. It is a typical Asturian restaurant. This is a energetic menu, don´t have a big lunch.

Spanish culture workshops

There are several things we can do altogether with the help of computers,chatting, sharing pictures, listen to different types of music, playing games...but some others are not so easy.
In Las Rosas school, some students want to share with you some pieces of our culture that are difficult to do with computers. We are planing different workshops, you could choose
If you enjoy music and dancing you have two possibilities:

If you enjoy developing yourculinary sense in Spanish food and wine, you have other two workshops

Transport in Madrid

Public transport in Madrid is easy to use and cheap. If you are not in hurry you can take the bus and enjoy the city. The school is not very far from the tube, it takes ten minutes walking, if you are brave in the morning, you can try. On Monday, we will go with you from your hotel to the school, it takes about one hour, we will use two means of transport metro and bus.
The single ticket is one euro. You can buy it at the tube stations or at some newsagents and it is valid for metro and bus. You can also buy a metrobus, which is a ten trip ticket, it costs 6.40 euros. There is a turistic ticket 3.80 one day, 6.80 two days and nine euros three days.

Transport from the Airport

We will pick you up from the airport. Let us know your flight details and... we will welcome you. There are four terminals in Madrid. Terminal number 4 is a bit farther but it is possible to go to your hotel from there by public transport.
